Woodridge, IL – Homicide Investigation Underway After Local Man Fatally Shot

Woodridge, IL – A Woodridge man was fatally shot Tuesday night, triggering an ongoing homicide investigation. 

On April 23, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Woodridge Police were dispatched following reports of gunfire in the 2000 block of North Country Club Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim in the street with gunshot wounds. Immediate life-saving measures were administered before he was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. 

The incident, which the police believe to be isolated, is currently under investigation by the Woodridge Police in collaboration with the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigative Team (MERIT). Authorities have assured the public there is no further danger, with more information to be released as it becomes available.
