Fatal Deer-Related Crash in LaSalle County, Illinois

OTTAWA, IL – Tragedy struck on Route 71 in northeast La Salle County late Tuesday when a vehicle carrying 21-year-old Arpankumar Patel and two others collided with a deer. 

The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Arpankumar Patel, of Ottawa, Illinois, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The accident occurred between Norway and Newark, involving a deer that was initially hit by another vehicle. The other two occupants, Nitinkumar Patel and Harsh Patel, were hospitalized at Morris Hospital. 

The incident left the Patel’s vehicle severely damaged in a nearby field.
