Ford County, IL – The Champaign County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the death of a 27-year-old individual involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 57.
The victim, identified by authorities as Justice D. Isom of Collinsville, succumbed to his injuries at Carle Hospital in Urbana, announced Stephen Thuney, the Interim Coroner. The accident, which occurred early Friday morning and involved two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle, led to Isom’s critical injuries.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to further investigate the cause of death. The crash had previously resulted in significant disruptions on I-57 near Paxton.
