Addison, IL – The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office and Addison Police Department have announced charges against three Colombian migrants for allegedly scamming a senior citizen out of over $20,000.

Miguel Pena-Gomez, Liliana Nagles-Cuesta, and Angela Posada-Acosta face felony theft charges following an alleged incident at Caputo’s in Addison. The suspects reportedly deceived the victim with a false claim about a winning lottery ticket. Addison Police’s swift response and investigation, in coordination with Streamwood and Elmhurst Police Departments, led to the arrest of the trio in Crystal Lake. State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Interim Chief Roy Selvik warned the public to be vigilant against such cons, especially during the holiday season.

The defendants are scheduled for arraignment on December 11, 2023, and are currently presumed innocent until proven guilty.
