KENDALL COUNTY, Illinois — A lawn mowing took a horrific turn for a local man when his lawn tractor capsized into a pond, leaving him perilously pinned and frantically calling for help. Two deputies from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office swiftly arrived on the scene, making all the difference.

The incident, which occurred last Wednesday around 3 p.m., was chillingly captured on Deputy Angerame’s body camera. The footage shows the victim trapped beneath the sinking tractor, only a sliver of his face visible above the water. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the deputies acted promptly. They worked diligently to stabilize the tractor, with Angerame particularly focused on ensuring the man could breathe.

The situation turned with the arrival of the Plainfield Fire Department. Their combined expertise was pivotal in orchestrating a successful rescue, extracting the man from his precarious predicament. Following a comprehensive check by paramedics, the man was found to be unscathed.

Sheriff Dwight Baird commended the collaborative rescue, emphasizing the crucial role of inter-agency teamwork and the unwavering commitment of first responders in safeguarding the community.
