GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL – An Illinois woman has been sentenced to serve four years prison after reportedly biting a police officer.

Tyler Russell, 27, from Glendale Heights, was sentence Tuesday by Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh following an altercation in a local parking lot where she bit a police officer.

The incident, which occurred in June 2020, escalated from a verbal dispute to a physical confrontation when officers identified signs of alcohol in her vehicle. While attempting to arrest Russell, she resisted, leading to the severe injury of an officer. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin commended the bravery of the police and the dedication of the Assistant State’s Attorneys in securing the verdict.
