KANE COUNTY, IL – A woman has been convicted on multiple charges of aggravated battery against her elderly mother.
According to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s office in a release Tuesday, Rebecca L. Wise, 38, of Cary, Illinois, has been found guilty of multiple charges, including aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery against a person aged 60 or older.
The jury’s decision was announced by State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser. In the November 2022 incident, Wise kicked her mother in the face, resulting in a broken orbital bone. The victim, over 60 years old at the time of the attack, faced her daughter in court.
Wise’s sentencing is set for December 13, 2023, where she may face imprisonment or probation.
