Kankakee, IL – Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Offering Cocaine at Gas Station

Kankakee, IL – Early morning customers at a Kankakee gas station were confronted with an unusual offer yesterday as a man allegedly attempted to distribute cocaine at the pumps. Kankakee police responded to reports around 5 a.m. at a gas station located on the 2200 block of East Court Street. Upon arrival, officers found 33-year-old Hayward Booker Jr. from Kankakee inside the establishment’s game room.

According to police, visible traces of white powder were seen on Booker’s hoodie and the floor where he stood, prompting his arrest. Booker was subsequently taken to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, with charges pending further review.
