Oak Lawn, IL – Excitement revs up in Oak Lawn as the public library prepares to host the Batmobile at its 8th Annual Fan Fest. On Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., pop culture aficionados will have the opportunity to witness the legendary vehicle firsthand at 9427 S. Raymond Ave.

The event, free and open to fans of all ages, promises a day packed with entertainment including performances by Raks Geek Wookiee Bellydancers, cosplay contests, and engaging activities like DIY galaxy jars and miniature painting.

Youthful creativity will be sparked by Mark Anderson of Andertoons, who will guide young attendees in a cartoon drawing class. The event also offers airbrush tattoos, a scavenger hunt, and a chance to rub elbows with iconic space characters. For gaming enthusiasts, tabletop games and an outdoor GameTruck ensure fun is just a roll of the dice away.

OLPL’s Fan Fest 2024 stands as a testament to community collaboration, with local entities like Alive Church, Bookie’s Book Store, and several others backing the festive gathering. Those eager for more information or the full event itinerary can visit olpl.org/fanfest, or stay connected through the Oak Lawn Public Library Facebook page.
