PEORIA, IL – A gunshot incident has thrust the Peoria Police Department into a comprehensive investigation following a Shot Spotter alert on Friday, April 5, 2024.
According to Peoria Police, the alert, which reported 11 rounds fired, was received around 1:59 p.m. in the 2100 block of W. Marquette Ave. Upon their arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
The response to the scene was robust, with members from the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), Neighborhood Services Unit (NSU), and Patrol Unit all partaking in the initial stages of the investigation.
