Orland Park, IL – In a display of effective cross-jurisdictional cooperation, Orland Park and Midlothian Police Departments have successfully apprehended a suspect involved in a vehicular hijacking.
According to Orland Park Police reports the incident, which took place on the evening of April 3, 2024, in Orland Park, concluded with the arrest of Shawn Flores, a 44-year-old from Midlothian, after a brief foot chase on April 4.
The arrest followed an alarming incident where a victim was removed from his vehicle at gunpoint in the 15100 block of Orlan Brook Dr., with Flores then fleeing in the stolen vehicle. Quick action and collaboration between the two police departments led to the swift recovery of the vehicle and Flores’s subsequent arrest.
Flores has been charged with allegations including Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking, a Class X Felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, a Class 3 Felony.
