Peoria Man Arrested After Police Chase, Loaded Handgun Found

Peoria, IL – Early Saturday morning, police in Peoria arrested a man following a chase and recovered a loaded firearm. 

According to police reports officers responded to a disturbance involving individuals peering into cars on N. North Street around 12:54 a.m. They intercepted two suspects near Sheridan and Brons Street. When approached by police, Thaddeus D. Riley, 25, fled on foot but was captured in the 800 block of Bartlett.

According to the Peoria Police Department, a loaded semi-automatic handgun was found along Riley’s escape route. He faces charges including Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, possession without a FOID card, and obstructing police. Riley was booked into Peoria County Jail. Authorities urge anyone with information on violent crimes to contact the Peoria Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
