Oswego, IL – A 15-year-old Plainfield teenager was arrested at Oswego East High School on Tuesday for possessing a loaded firearm on school premises.
According to police reports it began at approximately 10:00 a.m. when vigilant students discovered a backpack containing the firearm and promptly reported it to the school authorities. The Oswego Police, along with the school’s resource officer, initiated an immediate investigation, leading to the swift arrest of the juvenile.
The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office has since approved multiple charges against the teenager, including three felony counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The Oswego Police Department commended the students for their proactive response, highlighting their critical role in averting potential danger.
