Kankakee County, Illinois – Semi Overturns Avoiding Deer, Driver Hospitalized

Grant Park, IL – A person was hospitalized early Tuesday after nearly hitting a deer and rolling a semi. 

According to Illinois State Police, a semi-truck overturned early Tuesday morning on Route 17 just before 6 a.m. when the driver swerved to avoid a deer, resulting in the semi rolling into a ditch. The unidentified driver was promptly taken to a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. 

The situation led to temporary traffic delays on Route 17 as emergency services responded. The condition of the driver is currently being assessed. Further details are pending investigation.
