Will County, IL – June Birdwatching Tours Return at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie

Wilmington, IL – Nature enthusiasts can rejoice as the June birdwatching tours are back at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. The U.S. Forest Service has announced a series of auto and bird hike tours every Saturday in June from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, auto tours are scheduled for June 1, 15, and 29, while bird hike tours will occur on June 8 and 22. Auto tours will meet at the Welcome Center, limited to 10 vehicles per tour, and will traverse unmaintained roads. 

Bird hikes will start from the Ironbridge Trailhead. Participants should bring their own binoculars and water bottles. For more information or to RSVP, contact SM.FS.midewin_rsvp@usda.gov or call 815-423-6370.
