Crete, IL – A gaping sinkhole has led to the immediate shutdown of Burville Road in Crete, prompting rapid response from local contractors. 

The road section between Hartmann Drive and State Street is now off-limits, with repair crews targeting a one-week turnaround for reopening.Travelers are advised to detour via New Monee Road or State Street until further notice.
