Urbana, IL – The Champaign County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the death of 19-year-old Andrew Wade Thomas from Avon, Indiana, after a devastating motorcycle crash. The incident occurred last Thursday night at around 10 PM at the intersection of University Avenue and 4th Street. Thomas was transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana, where he died approximately 30 minutes following the collision.
Champaign Police detailed that the accident involved Thomas’s motorcycle and a car that failed to yield while making a left turn onto 4th Street, resulting in Thomas being ejected from his motorcycle.
