INDIANAPOLIS, IN – In a swift response to circulating rumors, Indianapolis Zoo officials have categorically dismissed claims of lions escaping from their facility.

Addressing the confusion, a spokesperson stated, “Who knew that April Fools’ Day came in December? Reports of lions escaping from our Zoo are not true. If you saw this image floating around social media, know that it came from a safari trail camera in Africa. All of our animals are safe and sound.”

The confusion arose from an image suggesting that lions had been sighted at 6:37 pm on a trail cam along the White River. The Zoo has reassured the public that all animals are accounted for and urged not to give credence to such unfounded reports.
