Inmate Death by Blunt Force Trauma Sparks Major Investigation in Indiana

WESTVILLE, IN — Indiana State Police have been summoned to the Westville Correctional Facility following the tragic death of inmate John R. Taylor. 

The 35-year-old from Greene County was found deceased early Tuesday morning, with an autopsy by the LaPorte County Coroner confirming the cause of death as blunt force trauma. The victim, who was serving time for felony convictions, leaves behind a family who have been notified of the harrowing circumstances. 

As the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division Lowell Post delves into the case, the community awaits answers, and the LaPorte County Prosecutor’s office stands by to determine the potential for charges.
