Jasper County, IN – Trooper Dennis L. Griffin of Jasper County has been named the 2023 Indiana State Police Trooper of the Year by Superintendent Douglas G. Carter. This honor recognizes Griffin’s exemplary service and leadership throughout the year at the Lowell Post, where he has demonstrated a strong commitment to community safety and law enforcement excellence.
Throughout 2023, Griffin’s remarkable performance included over a thousand traffic stops, 114 criminal arrests, and 111 arrests for operating while intoxicated. His role as a Field Training Officer and Drug Recognition Expert has been instrumental in enhancing roadway safety. F/Sgt. Terrance Weems commended him, noting, “Trooper Griffin embodies everything that it means to be an Indiana State Trooper. He takes great pride in making Indiana roadways safe for all of its travelers.”
Griffin, a five-year veteran of the Indiana State Police, resides in Jasper County with his family, where he continues to make significant contributions to the safety and well-being of his community.
