DEMOTTE, IN – Jasper County was rocked last Tuesday when the Family Express on 5449 W. State Rd. 10 became the target of an armed heist.
According to Jasper County Sheriff’s deputies were alerted at 5:24 A.M. following a panic alarm activation. Rushing to the scene were deputies from Jasper County and an officer from the DeMotte Police Department. By the time law enforcement arrived, the suspects had vanished, but the unharmed clerk described the incident.
A distinctive white four-door car with a black roof was the getaway vehicle. Emerging from it were two men and a woman, all in black with concealed faces. Armed and demanding, they swiftly took an unspecified sum of cash and Newport cigarettes before making their escape.
