Tragic Family Incident Leads to a Fatal Shooting of NW Indiana Toddler

Gary, Indiana – A tragic family incident led to the death of a 2-year-old boy after being accidentally shot by his 3-year-old brother. 

According to police reports the incident occurred when the older brother found a gun in their mother’s purse, which had been left unattended in the bedroom. The mother, after discovering the shooting, rushed her younger son to the hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. 

Gary Police Department are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. Upon completion, they will present their findings to the Lake County prosecutors to determine if any charges will be filed.
