Residents of Lake County are raising concerns after several reports of unsolicited late-night visits. Highland Police issued a warning following complaints about individuals, allegedly associated with various companies, soliciting outside legal hours.
These incidents have occurred over the past week, with solicitors making uninvited approaches to homes during the night, attempting to persuade homeowners with sales pitches. Door-to-door solicitation is legally allowed only from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Saturday, with a prohibition on Sundays and holidays.
Residents are advised to ensure solicitors are properly permitted by checking with the Highland Town Hall and to contact police if they suspect any solicitation is illegitimate.
