Warsaw, MO – The National Weather Service has confirmed multiple tornadoes across central Missouri following severe storms on Thursday, April 17, with updated survey results released Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, survey teams identified three additional tornadoes, bringing further clarity to storm damage reported across Benton and Morgan counties, including areas near Warsaw, Barnett, and Gravois Mills.

The strongest confirmed tornado in the latest report was rated EF-1 near North Warsaw, producing peak winds of 90 mph. The storm traveled approximately 2.6 miles and caused damage to mobile homes, businesses along Highway 65, and widespread tree damage.

Another EF-1 tornado was confirmed north of Gravois Mills, with winds also reaching around 90 mph. That tornado uprooted trees, damaged outbuildings, and broke windows in at least one home along its 2.3-mile path.

Two additional EF-0 tornadoes were identified, including one north of Barnett and another northwest of Gravois Mills. These weaker tornadoes still caused localized damage, including downed trees, damaged barns, and debris scattered across rural roadways.

Officials note that all survey results remain preliminary, and tornado paths could be adjusted as additional satellite data and damage assessments are reviewed. The previously confirmed Warsaw tornado track was also updated as part of the latest analysis.

No injuries or fatalities were reported in connection with these storms.

Residents are encouraged to remain weather-aware as severe weather season continues across Missouri.
