Fulton, MO – A newly confirmed tornado from last week’s severe weather outbreak tracked more than 20 miles across central Missouri, according to updated survey results.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, an EF-0 tornado developed Friday, April 17, near the Missouri River and moved through Hartsburg before ending near Fulton. The tornado traveled approximately 23.7 miles, crossing parts of Cole, Boone, and Callaway counties.

Officials say the tornado likely touched down and lifted multiple times along its path between 8:08 p.m. and 8:33 p.m. Peak winds were estimated at 85 mph, with a maximum width of about 150 yards.

Damage reports indicate the storm caused impacts primarily to trees and minor structures along the track. Despite the length of the tornado’s path, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

The National Weather Service noted that this tornado adds to a growing list of confirmed storms from the April 17 outbreak, as survey teams continue to analyze damage across the region.

Residents are encouraged to remain weather-aware as spring storm activity continues, especially during evening hours when visibility can be reduced.

Additional survey updates may be released as further analysis is completed.
