The incident occurred on Saturday, Dec. 2, when the seller was contacted by an individual using the name “Angel David Randy,” who agreed to purchase the boat and sent a cashier’s check exceeding the sale price by $10,000. The seller’s bank later confirmed the check’s likely fraudulent nature.
