Portage, IN – A newborn coyote pup’s survival story began in Portage after being found alone along the Duneland Trail near Olson Memorial Park.
Weighing a mere 250 grams, the female pup is not only the youngest rescued by Humane Indiana Wildlife but also an embodiment of resilience, already showing robust health despite early challenges.
According to Humane Indiana Wildlife, the pup was fortunate to be heard and rescued promptly, and the absence of her mother is shrouded in mystery. Currently, the facility is seeking additional coyote companions to foster a natural upbringing. The humane society is dedicated to her growth and eventual integration into a proper coyote pack, emphasizing the importance of family in her developmental stages.
Public support has been critical, with donations aiding in her care, and the organization continues to invite contributions to assist this pup and other wildlife in need through their website.
