Teen Shot in Neck Inside Van at Indiana Mall

Mishawaka, Indiana – A juvenile teen was shot in the neck while inside a van parked near a mall in Indiana. 

The incident occurred on Sunday, December 17, in the University Park Mall parking lot in Mishawaka. Following a 911 call just before 6 p.m., police initiated an investigation into the shooting. Details about what transpired in the van prior to the incident are still being uncovered. Authorities have stated that the crime scene was confined to the van, and all individuals involved are cooperating with the investigation. 

The Mishawaka Police Department has assured the public that this was an isolated incident with no broader threat to community safety.
