Omaha, NE – A derecho that swept through Nebraska on Friday produced 16 confirmed tornadoes, the National Weather Service (NWS) reports. The survey revealed three EF-1 tornadoes and 13 EF-0 tornadoes.
According to the NWS Omaha/Valley, tornadoes caused significant damage across multiple counties. Notable incidents include the Howells tornado, with peak winds of 110 mph, and the Missouri Valley tornado, both of which resulted in extensive tree and infrastructure damage.
