Aurora, IL – Oswego Police have apprehended Marcus D. Franklin, a 22-year-old resident of Aurora, in a case involving allegations of reckless discharge of a firearm and property damage. This development, reported on January 19, 2024, stems from an incident in Oswego’s 400 block of Blue Ridge Drive.
Franklin faces several Class 4 felony charges, including reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and criminal damage to property. Another individual, Brianna C. Venson, 20, from Aurora, has also been charged with felony criminal damage to property. The incident involved a vehicle in a driveway being damaged by gunfire, with bullet holes detected.
After a swift investigation aided by license plate reader data, Oswego Police located and arrested the suspects in Woodridge. Post-approval from the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office, Franklin and Venson were processed at the Oswego Police Department and then moved to Kendall County Jail, with a bond hearing set for January 20, 2024.
The Oswego Police Department acknowledges the assistance of the Woodridge Police Department in this case and continues to seek additional information from the public.
