MORRIS, IL – In a strange turn of events that sounds more like a comic book plot than reality, the Morris Police Department apprehended a man claiming to be “Batman” on December 14, 2023. The incident occurred near Route 47 and Interstate 80, where the police conducted a traffic stop on an unregistered, black, homemade vehicle resembling a ‘Batmobile.’

According to Grundy County Sheriff’s Department reports the driver, steadfast in his Batman persona, refused to provide standard identification, leaving officers with no choice but to arrest him. Despite exhaustive searches, the Morris Police database held no records of either a ‘Man, Bat’ or ‘Batman.’

Charges against this caped crusader include operating a vehicle without insurance, registration, and a driver’s license. After his vehicle was towed, the self-proclaimed superhero was released at the scene. This bizarre incident has left the community buzzing with questions about the man behind the mask and his homemade Batmobile.
