Bloomington Shooting: Two Arrested After Man Shot from Inside Vehicle

BLOOMINGTON, IL – Late Friday night, a 21-year-old man was rushed to Carle BroMenn Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his back, the bullet originating from inside the vehicle he occupied. 

According to Bloomington Police, two suspects, identified as Cierra M. Sibley, 19, of Champaign, and Destiyon A. Anderson, 19, of Bloomington, were swiftly apprehended by local authorities.

Charges against Sibley include alleged Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, among others. 

Anderson faces two counts of alleged Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Chief Jamal Simington expressed relief that the victim’s injuries weren’t fatal and urged the public to report firearm-related crimes anonymously.

Details surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Detective Law encourages witnesses or those with any relevant information to reach out.
