BOURBONNAIS, IL – Residents of the Briarcliff subdivision in Bourbonnais are on edge as a series of BB gun shootings by vandals have caused property damage to homes located along the trail within the community.

A neighbor reported the incident on Thursday, stating that a sliding glass door was among the shattered windows. Similar incidents were reported in Manteno just last week.

Local law enforcement authorities have been notified, however, the identity of the vandals remains unknown at this time.  Residents are advised to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity they may witness in neighborhoods in a proactive approach to secure homes from any future acts of vandalism.

Last Summer’s incident in Charleston further highlights the severity of the recent vandalism spree in Bourbonnais. Two juveniles were charged with felony criminal damages after being arrested in a series of vandalisms that damaged buildings and vehicles with a BB Gun. The incidents caused widespread concern among the community, and the charges brought against the juveniles were a clear indication that such acts of vandalism are not to be taken lightly.
