Bourbonnais announces “Rockin’ Around the Tree Lighting” featuring sounds of the season by local students

BOURBONNAIS – The Village of Bourbonnais will host the first annual “Rockin’ Around the Tree Lighting” featuring the sounds of the season by Bourbonnais Students Thursday, December 2nd at 6 pm.

The event will be held outdoors at the corner of Main Street at Route 102/Route 45/52 at 131 S. Main Street with attendees treated to local vendors including Connect Roasters and LoveALatte who will offer seasonal favorites including hot chocolate, coffee, and cider.

First-place winners from the village’s “Very Merry Coloring Contest” will assist Mayor Paul Schore with lighting the new holiday tree. The contest coloring page can be downloaded from the village website or at the Administration Building 600 Main Street NW.

The entry deadline is Monday, November 29th by 4:30 p.m.

“As we continue to incorporate new and exciting events in the village, we are pleased to present the very talented youth in Bourbonnais,” explained Mayor Schore. “Bundle up, bring the family for a fun outdoor event and enjoy an introduction to the holiday season.”

The event will feature sounds of the season from Alan Shepard Elementary, Bishop McNamara Catholic School, Liberty Intermediate, Bourbonnais Upper-Grade Center, and St. Paul’s Lutheran School, with a special appearance by Santa Clause himself.

The event is free and no registration is required to attend.
