BOURBONNAIS, IL – The Bourbonnais Friendship Festival Grand Parade is gearing up to be one of the highlights of the summer in Kankakee County, with entries being accepted until June 2nd.
The parade, taking place on June 25th at 1:00 pm, will be a celebration of the theme “Building Forever Friendships,” with participants encouraged to create a float or decorate their vehicle that follows the construction theme.
The festival committee has requested that all participants adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all involved. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in being asked to leave. Entry fees are $50 for commercial entries, while non-profit and children’s organizations can participate for free. The Great Friend sponsors and above can also participate free of charge. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning entries.
In addition to the Grand Parade, the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival is also hosting a Children’s Parade on June 23rd, with a new parade route and step off location. Children from all over the community are encouraged to participate in this fun event, and entry is free for everyone. Using the same “Building Forever Friendships” theme as the Grand Parade, children can decorate their bikes, scooters, skateboards, wagons, or even themselves for judging.
Entry forms for both parades can be found on the festival’s website, www.bourbonnaisfriendshipfestival.com/parades, and must be submitted for the Children’s Parade by Opening Ceremonies on June 21st.Â
The parade committee is looking forward to seeing everyone’s creative ideas come to life and continuing to build forever friendships within the community.
