Bourbonnais, IL – Man Charged with Felony Theft of Copper from Former Nursing Home

Bourbonnais, IL – Police apprehended a man early Wednesday on allegations of stealing copper from a defunct nursing home. 

According to police reports it began just after 1 AM, Brian T. Meredith, 61, was allegedly caught stripping metal from an air conditioning unit atop the former Terrace nursing home. Meredith faces felony charges for criminal damage and theft, in addition to possession of burglary tools. He is accused of targeting copper components, a common theft item due to their value. 

Meredith now faces charges of criminal trespass, theft, and possession of burglary tools.
