Bourbonnais, IL – Residents in Bourbonnais will have a chance to explore local businesses and win prizes as the Bourbonnais Public Library District launches a community-wide scavenger hunt starting Thursday, May 1.
According to the Bourbonnais Public Library District, the free event is designed to promote community connection while highlighting local spots throughout the village. Participants can pick up a scavenger hunt card at the library beginning May 1 and will receive a small prize just for signing up.
Organizers say participants will visit various businesses and organizations listed on the card, where they will scan QR codes to access clues. Each stop provides a word, and once all locations are completed, participants must unscramble the collected words into a final message.
Completed entries must be returned to the library by May 31 to receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win grand prize baskets. Additional entries can be earned by sharing participation photos on social media and tagging the library.
The event is open to all ages, with families encouraged to participate together. Library officials say the goal is to create an engaging, interactive way for residents to connect with their community while enjoying a fun outdoor activity during the spring season.
More information about the scavenger hunt, including participating locations, is available through the Bourbonnais Public Library District.
