Champaign County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Assistance in Robbery Case

Champaign, IL — The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a recent robbery. The incident occurred on December 7th, 2023, around 10:57 p.m., at 425 Paddock Drive West in Savoy. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim was confronted by two male suspects, believed to be teenagers, as he was leaving an exercise facility at an apartment complex. The suspects reportedly used pepper spray and physical force before stealing the victim’s wallet and headphones.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information to contact the Investigations Division at 217-384-1213 or Crime Stoppers at 217-373-TIPS. 

Tips can also be submitted through, the P3 Tips mobile app, or the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office mobile app. Crime Stoppers guarantees anonymity, with tips processed by a third-party service to ensure confidentiality. There’s a potential reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters receive a unique code to check the status of their tip and potential reward.
