Chicago, IL – Motorists are advised to exercise caution this morning as the National Weather Service reports a mix of drizzle, light rain, and occasional snowflakes throughout the day.

The risk of freezing rain and slick road conditions is particularly high during the morning hours. The precipitation is expected to end by the evening, clearing from west to east. A welcome change is on the horizon, with dry and unseasonably mild weather anticipated for the rest of the week. Temperatures may reach near 50 degrees, especially on Thursday.

Over in Indiana, the Department of Transportation’s Northwest Division is proactively responding to the potential hazards. Their #YellowTrucks are patrolling the roads early this morning due to the imminent freezing conditions. Drivers are urged to start their day earlier than usual and to slow down to ensure safety on potentially slippery roads. This alert signifies the region’s preparedness to manage the diverse winter weather scenarios effectively.
