Chicago, IL – The National Weather Service in Chicago is currently monitoring an incoming weather system that could bring high winds to parts of the area later tonight.

The alert, issued at 3:28 PM CDT, warns of isolated corridors where wind gusts might exceed 50 mph. These gusts are expected as a complex of showers and thunderstorms weakens while moving from Iowa into Illinois.

Although the development of these strong gusts is still uncertain, frequent wind gusts ranging from 30-40 mph from the south-southwest are anticipated. Residents are advised to stay updated as further forecasts will be provided this evening.
