Chicago, IL – The Chicagoland area is on alert for an inclement mix of weather this week, starting with today’s forecast of slushy snowfall north of I-88 and robust winds reaching up to 60 MPH.

The US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois has warned of a powerful storm system bringing a series of weather threats, including severe thunderstorms, particularly south and west of I-55. Following the storm, Wednesday will see blustery conditions with the potential for slushy snow accumulations that may affect road safety and travel.

The tumultuous weather is set to give way to a gradual warming trend from Thursday morning onwards, leading to more temperate and pleasant conditions over the weekend. Citizens are encouraged to stay informed about the weather conditions and to exercise caution during the affected times: thunderstorms today from noon to 4 PM CDT, and winds and snow threats from 2 to 8 PM CDT on Wednesday.
