Corpus Christi, TX – Showers and thunderstorms will begin impacting South Texas by Tuesday afternoon, with periods of heavier rain capable of slowing travel and briefly flooding low-lying roads through the evening commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, rain chances climb to 70% Tuesday, with storms developing by mid-afternoon and continuing into the evening hours. The Victoria Crossroads area is a key concern, where repeated downpours could push rainfall totals near 1 inch, with locally higher amounts possible if storms track over the same locations.

Cities along U.S. 77 and I-37, including Victoria, Corpus Christi, and Beeville, may see ponding on roads and reduced visibility during peak travel times. Temperatures will stay cooler during the rain, with highs ranging from the mid-60s inland to near 70 degrees along the coast Tuesday.

Rain chances remain elevated into Wednesday at 60%, before conditions begin to dry out. By Thursday and Friday, highs climb into the low to mid-90s, with Corpus Christi reaching 95°F by Friday and near 97°F by Saturday. Overnight lows will hold in the low to mid-70s.

Drivers should avoid water-covered roads and allow extra time for travel Tuesday afternoon and evening. Additional advisories may be issued if heavier rainfall develops, especially near Victoria and surrounding communities.
