DuPage County, IL – Suspect Barricaded in Apartment Denied Pretrial Release After Route 83 Incident

Wheaton, IL – A DuPage County individual is held without pretrial release following an alleged reckless firearm discharge in an apartment near Route 83, as per the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. 

On March 20, 2024, after reportedly barricading himself and ignoring deputies’ commands, the SWAT team was activated and successfully took him into custody. The Sheriff’s Office highlighted the non-violent arrest and the dedicated work of first responders. This event demonstrates the local law enforcement’s commitment to public safety and the swift action taken during high-risk situations. 

Judge Dieden has ordered the suspect to remain in custody, denying pretrial release and highlighting the gravity of the charges. The community is reminded of the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, with the next court date anticipated on April 15, 2024.
