Eastern Iowa Alert: Funnel Cloud Formations Possible This Afternoon

Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service issued a warning Monday about potential funnel clouds forming in eastern Iowa this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, these funnel clouds are usually brief and rarely become tornadoes, but brief touchdowns cannot be ruled out. No funnel clouds have been reported so far. If a tornado warning is issued, residents are advised to take cover. This alert is separate from the severe weather threat expected later today.
