Minooka, Illinois – Two felons were taken into custody by a collaborative effort of Minooka, Channahon, Morris, and Grundy County Deputy’s on March 3, 2023.
At approximately 2:37 pm, Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted Minooka Police with a person who was stabbed multiple times at Menasha Packing, located at 456 International Pkwy. North. The alleged offender, Frederick A Damico, 52, fled on foot. After a short search, Damico was located inside the Arby’s restaurant at Ridge road and Interstate 80 and taken into custody by the Grundy County Pro Active unit.
During the search for Damico, Grundy County Deputies were notified of a stolen vehicle at Ridge road and Interstate 80. The vehicle, a black 2015 Nissan reported stolen out of Joliet, was identified by a Morris Police Officer who was assisting in the search for Damico. A Grundy Deputy attempted a traffic stop of the stolen vehicle, but the vehicle fled onto Minooka Road. Spike strips were successfully deployed, and the stolen vehicle came to a stop at Ridge road and Bob Blair drive in Minooka.
The driver of the stolen vehicle was identified as Christopher S. Craig-Farrier, 19 of Joliet, and was taken into custody by Grundy County Deputy’s and Channahon Police. During the arrest, a handgun was recovered. Craig-Farrier is charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, No Valid Drivers License, Possessing of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Resisting a Peace Officer.
“This was great teamwork by Minooka, Channahon, Morris, and Grundy County Deputy’s taking two dangerous felons off our streets,” said Sheriff Ken Briley.
