Emergency Shelter Open for Flood-Affected Residents in Morris

Morris, IL – The American Red Cross is operating a 24/7 emergency shelter for those who have self-evacuated due to the Kankakee River flooding. 

The shelter, located at First Christian Church Morris IL – 455 W Southmor Rd, Morris, IL 60450, provides a safe haven for impacted residents. For those seeking refuge, be aware that the shelter’s doors lock at 10 PM. However, access is still available around the clock. Residents needing to enter after-hours are advised to knock or call 815-740-0911 for evening admission. 

Groups arriving together should call ahead to the same number to ensure a coordinated and swift assistance upon arrival. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support the community amidst the flood crisis.
