Fatal Shooting in Kankakee: 28-Year-Old Man’s Death Investigated as Homicide

Kankakee, IL – A 28-year-old Pembroke Township man was found fatally shot early Tuesday morning in Kankakee, prompting a homicide investigation.

The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office reported that the incident occurred in the 200 block of North Crestlane Drive. Elijah J. Robinson, 28, was discovered with gunshot wounds and was transported to Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

According to the coroner’s office, the shooting is being treated as a homicide. The Kankakee Police Department and the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office are jointly investigating the circumstances surrounding Robinson’s death. Authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to the fatal shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
