Field of Dreams game with Cards, Sox nixed due to logistics

The White Sox-Cardinals game set to be played at the “Field of Dreams” ballpark has been canceled, according to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic.

The game was set to be played on August 13th in Dyersville, Iowa. The cancellation reoprtedly had nothing to do with a recent COVID-19 outbreak among Cardinals players, but was rather due to logistical concerns, Rosenthal reports.

Major League Baseball announced Monday 13 Cardinals players and staff had tested positive for COVID-19. The league postponed St. Louis’ four-game series against the Tigers starting Tuesday due to the results.

Originally the New York Yankees were set to play the White Sox in the Field of Dreams game, later changed to the Cardinals due to regional play this year in MLB.
