Frankfort, IL – Worker in Stable Condition After Falling from Antenna at Top of Grainery Tower

Frankfort, IL – A worker is now in stable condition following a fall from an antenna located at the top of a grainery tower in Frankfort, IL. 

According to Frankfort Fire the incident occurred around 2:31 pm Thursday, triggering a significant emergency response from the Frankfort Fire Protection District and several neighboring fire departments. The individual, who fell approximately 15 feet, sustained a severe arm fracture and was unable to descend the 125-foot tower independently. 

Frankfort Fire personnel, aided by technical rescue teams, executed a challenging rescue operation. The patient was warmed, treated for his injuries at the site, and carefully lowered to safety.

The worker was transported to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where he remains in stable condition. The successful rescue involved extensive collaboration among multiple fire protection districts and the support of the Frankfort Police and Public Works Departments.
