FRANKFORT, IL – The spookiest time of the year is almost here, and Frankfort’s Prairie Park is gearing up for a thrilling event you won’t want to miss. The Village of Frankfort proudly presents the second annual Scary at the Prairie 5K and Spooky Sprint, promising a day filled with Halloween fun for all ages.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 21, at 10:30 a.m., when the ghoulish gathering will kick off at Prairie Park, nestled in the heart of downtown Frankfort. Whether you choose to run, walk, creep, or crawl, the only requirement is to do it in your favorite Halloween costume.

Participants dressed in their most creative and spooky attire will automatically be entered into a costume contest, with exciting prizes awaiting the top three winners in each division: Adults, Children 10 & Under, and Groups.

But that’s not all! The Scary at the Prairie event promises an array of treats and tricks, including DJ music, a clown/balloon artist, a face painter, apple cider, hot chocolate, delicious donuts, and a warm bonfire to keep the chills at bay.

For those who like to plan ahead, pre-registering ensures you not only secure your spot but also guarantee yourself a coveted event T-shirt. The pre-registration fee for participants in costume is $15. If you prefer to join the fun without a costume or decide to register on the same day, the fee is $20.
